Cherry Bombs

I can't take all the credit for this one. My husband and I were discussing our favorite new spicy condiment, Hot Heads Pepperspread, and he came up with the idea of stuffing cherries with the spread and calling them "Cherry Bombs."

He thought that the stems would look like wicks and that you could remove them and put them back in afterwards.

I suggested that toothpicks might be better. But then I accidentally pitted the first cherry off-center, and I decided that was an even better idea.

This one looks like it's about to blow, hmmm?

So here's the play-by-play:

I pitted some cherries, trying to keep the holes off center, so the stems would stay attached:

I thought that some cheese might make a nice addition. I was going to use cream cheese, but I bought some Haystack Mountain Chevre at the farmer's market and decided to use that. I topped the cheese some Pepperspread to get it ready for stuffing:

And I stuffed the mixture into some poor, innocent cherries. The stuffer I use is called the Olivator, and it's a nice tool for stuffing semi-firm ingredients into fruits and olives.

And here's a few stuffed cherries, looking all innocent.

But we know they've got a little extra spark, don't we?
Yum
