Kiwi-Strawberry Parfait

I decided to enter just one more little recipe into the Kitchen Play contest. This contest is sponsored by ZESPRI kiwi fruit, and the deal with these contests is that you have to recreate/revise/riff on a recipe that another blogger created for the month's menu, using the sponsor's product.

In this case, the recipe was a kiwi strawberry sorbet parfait. But instead of making sorbet, I decided to use fresh fruit layered with my home made Greek-style yogurt. That recipe is here.

The yogurt is something I pretty much always have on hand, and I leave it unflavored so I can add it to anything - or add anything to it.

If you're going for a dessert parfait, you could add a little sugar or honey to the yogurt to sweeten it up a bit, or even better, drizzle the finished parfait with a bit of honey.

For breakfast, lunch, or a light snack I prefer to leave it unsweetened. But it's entirely up to you.

Kiwi-Strawberry Yogurt Parfait

1 kiwi
2 strawberries
1/4 cup Greek-style yogurt
Honey (optional)

Peel the kiwi, quarter, and slice into 1/4-inch pieces.

Slice the strawberries thinly.

Layer the kiwi, strawberries, and yogurt in a glass. Drizzle with honey, if desired.

Serve.
Yum
