Miller doesn't actually make or can the sauce - that's handled by another local company. The produce, however, comes from Miller Farms.
My husband was surprised that I bought a jarred sauce. I don't think I've ever served him a jarred pasta sauce - ever. But since this was all locally sourced and made, I figured it was worth a try.
The ingredients list doesn't include anything weird or scary, either: tomatoes, yellow onions, garlic, carrots, heavy whipping cream, vodka, extra virgin olive oil, fresh parsley, fresh basil, salt, celery salt, and pepper.
The sauce had good tomato flavor and a slight heat that built up as you ate. Not crazy hot by any means, but a nice amount of spice.
While I like making my own sauce, I've got to say that this would be worth having on hand for pasta emergencies. And since this isn't a type of sauce that I typically make, it's even better, since it's not like we'd be comparing it to my sauce.
Thumbs up on this one.
Now I have to wait for the farmer's market to open in the spring before I can buy more.
