On the other hand, a bread machine doesn't throw off much heat. When I want a loaf of bread for sandwiches, tossing ingredients into the bread machine makes a lot of sense. It's better than heating up the house so I can have cold sandwiches.
This loaf includes one of my favorite flours - semolina. Yup, it's the same sort of flour that's used in pasta. I like the flavor and texture it gives bread.
Semolina Bread
1 teaspoon instant yeast
1 tablespoon sugar
2 cups (9 ounces) all purpose flour
1 cup (6 ounces) semolina flour
1/4 cup dry nonfat milk
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups water
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
Put all the ingredients into your bread machine in the order recommended by your bread machine's manufacturer.
Set the machine for a light crust, regular bread.
When the bread is done remove it from the machine and let it cool completely on a rack before slicing.
