Cinnamon Bread - the bread machine version

When you think of cinnamon bread, you probably think of a sweet, eggy bread with a swirl of cinnamon and sugar, right?

Yeah, me too.

Lately, I haven't had a lot of time for making bread the traditional way, so I've been making a lot more bread in the bread machine.

Unfortunately, a bread machine can't make that sort of a swirl. Bummer, huh?

But it can make cinnamon bread, with the cinnamon incorporated into the bread. Not quite the same thing, but still very delicious.

Bread Machine Cinnamon Bread

1 teaspoon instant yeast
2 tablespoons sugar
2 1/2 cups (11 1/4 ounces) bread flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons butter
1 egg plus water to equal 1 cup

Place all ingredients into your bread machine in the order suggested by the bread machine's manufacturer. Set the machine for a light crust, medium loaf (if you have those settings).

When loaf is done, remove it from the machine and let it cool completely on a rack before slicing.
